🔴 Plateau State:
Bokkos & Mangu LGAs: Tragic incidents on April 12 saw 10 lives lost as gunmen targeted Mandung-Mushu and Kopnanle villages. Properties were destroyed and residents killed under the cover of darkness.
Military Response: The Nigerian Army has addressed allegations of misconduct, denying claims that troops shot civilians. Allegations regarding the death of four vigilantes by military actions have been strongly refuted as unfounded.
🔵 Anambra State:
Targeted Violence: The assassination of Cajetan Nwokike, former President-General of the Amansea Development Union, marks a concerning trend of violence in Awka North LGA.
Ongoing Concerns: The region continues to face a series of targeted assassinations, heightening local insecurities.
🟢 Imo State:
Crackdown on Crime: Imo State Police have made a significant arrest, capturing a 40-year-old suspected leader of a notorious kidnapping syndicate as part of efforts to combat escalating criminal activities.
🟡 Yoruba Nation Agitations:
Oyo State Clashes: Recent conflicts at the Oyo State Secretariat involved Yoruba Nation agitators and security forces, resulting in three fatalities and 20 arrests. Agitators clashed with troops, causing significant public disruption.
Security Efforts: The military and police are intensively tracking down involved agitators to secure the area and ensure public safety.
🔘 Other Incidents:
Ebonyi State: A police checkpoint attack in the Ishieke junction along the Enugu-Abakaliki Expressway led to a police officer’s death and a patrol vehicle being set on fire.
