On May 25, 2024, in Unguwar Lamido, Guga Ward, Bakori LGA, Katsina State, there were two tragic incidents. Eight individuals were killed, and 26 were kidnapped in a single day. In a separate location, Gidan Kare near Lamido, 26 people were killed, with significant property loss as all livestock (cattle and sheep) were stolen, food items and fertilizers were set ablaze, and 32 individuals, including men and children, were kidnapped.

In Gidan Tinjmi, Kakumi Ward, Bakori, two individuals were killed, and all houses in the village were set ablaze. Meanwhile, in Gidan Jaura, Kakunn Ward, Bakori, seven individuals were killed, and 15 were kidnapped, with one vehicle set ablaze. Additionally, in Sabon Lavi Kaku Ward, Bakori, numerous livestock were killed in an attack.

On May 31, 2024, bandits invaded a community in Niger State, resulting in the killing of 10 individuals and the abduction of 200 villagers. Among those killed were four members of the Joint Security Taskforce and three villagers who attempted to escape into the bush. The bandits, numbering about 300, invaded the community at about 7:00 PM and operated under heavy rain for over three hours without resistance.

In Kuchi Community, Munya LGA, Niger State, seven people were killed, and 200 villagers were abducted. The bandits overpowered security agents, looted shops, and abducted villagers, with no immediate reinforcement arriving, leading to a successful attack by the bandits.

On May 27, 2024, in Unguwar Lamido Village, Bakori LGA, Katsina State, suspected bandits shot dead 11 people. An unknown number of people were also wounded in the attack. A manhunt has been launched to identify and apprehend those responsible.

The security situation in Nigeria continues to be dire with multiple incidents of killings, kidnappings, and attacks on communities. The lack of timely reinforcement and the overwhelming number of bandits during these attacks highlight the urgent need for enhanced security measures and support for affected communities.
